General objective:
In September the theme for this school year was decided: Positive participation in the climate. We will continue to ask parents to participate in the activities because this brought a lot of joy to the children last year.
Month: September
Objective: What are rights? Children's rights in kindergarten. Reading Vináttan, small books from Steinunn. Article 5
They are reflecting on different family situations. Some children need help from other countries.
Academic material: Housing rights, to have a name, a piece of land and a safe environment. To know and enjoy the care of their parents, if possible. Articles 7 and 8
Crafts: Drawing a family and our home.
Month: October
Objective: For children to practice having/sharing opinions and using equality.
Academic material: For children to know their rights in terms of equality, expression and freedom, Article 12.
Crafts: Discussions and games. Drawings: What do I want to be? Role-playing games.
Month: November
Goal: The topic: Children learn about various tools against bullying, violence such as defamation.
Academic material Right to privacy. The right to be protected from abuse and neglect. "This is my body" Crafts: Games and discussions Month: December Goal: Children learn about their own and others' culture.
The topic: The right to one's own culture and traditions. Christmas traditions and music, p.
Processing: We read about Icelandic Christmas traditions and learn about other cultural traditions.
Month: January
Goal: Children have a positive body image and care about hygiene and exercise.
The topic: Right to medical care, etc. What is best for the child. Refugees and children. Article 21
Processing: Discussions, drawings. Walk, consider what the air is like and how it relates to our respiratory system.
Month: February
Goal: Children understand different family patterns.
Theme: Access to both parents after divorce. Article 9
Processing: Drawings, Discussions.
Month: March
Objective: To encourage children's initiative in social life.
The curriculum: Children have the right to found their own associations and groups. They can meet friends and colleagues. Processing: To start a group of friends. Make a bracelet.
Month: April
Objective: For children to get to know their immediate environment.
Theme: The right to live in conditions that promote physical, mental and social development. Article 27
Processing: Walk, discussions, drawings.
Month: May
Objective: For children to understand that values such as respect, participation, affection etc. are mutual.
Theme: Respect for the child's point of view. The term child. Disabled children. 22.-23. art.
Processing: Children describe in words and drawings how the teacher and/or people do not respect them.
